Social Marketing is the hot topic. But how are different companies incorporating it into their designs? Below are a few different examples of what people are doing.

Amy, I was just going to post on this very topic :)! Including social networking links within email messages is a smart way to bridge channels, however, dedicating a message specifically to announcing a social networking presence might be a bit gratuitous? What do you all think?
Below are a two others I saw last week.

When the CEO is excited about social marketing, then its our job to sell it. Its a hot topic, and nobody knows what they are doing. It's very dangerous.

I'm an email marketer and have recently added the social network "sharing" functionality (post to MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to our company's emails. We track everything via Google Analytics, but can't track the clicks or posts from this functionality via GA. Do you know the best way to go about this? It would be great insight to know how many email recipients are clicking on each social network icon to share and how many actually go through and post/share the email with their virtual friends.

Hi MA,
Your ESP should be able to track the individual links for the social networking sites. Maybe you don't have the tracking turned on completely?
